Q: Can you help me get a record deal?
A: No, we do not perform Artist(s) and Repertoire (A&R) functions. It is our hope that the song(s) we produce for you will give you an edge and convey your creative talent and abilities when approaching/presenting to record labels or publishing companies.
Q: Do you work with clients who do not have a recording/production budget?
A: No, we require clients to have a recording/production budget since we devote considerable resources and time towards our music production services.
Q: Do I have to travel to your studio to work with you?
A: No. We use virtual/online communication tools and applications to work with artists all over the world. We pride ourselves in being a full service virtual/online music production company.
Q: Can I join your production and/or songwriting team?
A: At this time, there are no vacancies or opportunities within the team but we are always looking for great talent. A good way to get our attention is to have us work on a project for you. If we like what we hear, we will reach out to you.
Q: Do I have to be signed to a record label to work with you?
A: No, most of our clients are independent artists seeking management/record label/ publishing deals. It is our hope that the songs we produce for clients would get them noticed by record labels and/or management companies.
Q: What if I am signed to a Record Label?
A: We want to work with you. Please have your Record Label or Management Company contact us.
Q: Do you require clients to be above a certain age?
A: No, we enjoy working with young artists and it is great to see them develop their creative talents. Because we enter into contracts with artists during production, we require either parental consent or management representation for artists under 18 years of age.
Q: Do you only produce songs in a certain music genre?
A: We do not like to box ourselves and we take on any creative/production project. However, most of our clients target the mainstream electro-pop genre (Top 40) given its wider audience. Our creative talents are particularly honed in this genre.
Q: I want to send you my demo/music/lyrics
A: Carmen Genie Music Factory does not operate as a record company or as a publishing company. We do not accept unsolicited demo music/lyrics.
Q: Could you please just listen to my demo and give me comments on how to improve my songwriting, etc.?
A: No, we do not have an A&R person (because we are not a recording company) who can give you comments. Also, due to legal matters, the producers/writers cannot listen to demos at all. Therefore, all inquiries containing demos will be discarded.
Q: Can you recommend any recording and/or management company?
A: No. All these different companies can be found using a web search. We can not recommend any companies since they are all different depending on music style you make, and also different around the world.
Q: OK, so where should I send my demo music/lyrics?
A: If you want to be an artist we propose that you send your demo directly to a record company and try to get a record contract (record companies can be found using a web search). Or you can contact a management company that can help you contact record companies (management companies can be found using a web search).
Q: I am interested in working with you, what do I need to do?
A: Please contact us with details on your project
